Another December, another post about how quickly this year as passed and the long to-do list that not only remains incomplete, but was barely even acknowledged. And today, December 16, I finally put out a little bit of holiday decor. Whew.

But THIS post is MUCH more than that. In addition to the usual whining about time and to-do lists and blah, blah, blah, I have amazing news to share–my debut flash fiction collection, Proof of Life, will be available for pre-orders in ONE MONTH!!

It’s never too late to be who you might have been. — George Eliot

Some of you (maybe a lot of you, if you follow me on Twitter) already know that I have a collection coming out next April, but now you can go read the incredibly humbling blurbs written by friends, more friends, instructors, friends & instructors, and brilliant writers I admire for their own work on the ELJ Editions website.

Ariana den Bleyker, my editor and publisher, has been a generous and supportive partner throughout the process of putting this collection together, and I have to credit her for choosing the title of one of the micro stories for the book. I can’t thank her enough for her encouragement. I was hoping to spend 2022 working on a collection and a memoir-in-flash, but didn’t think it was going to happen. This came together rather quickly over the last couple of months and I am thrilled with the result.

I created the collage used for the cover image, and I’m excited to share that I’m also providing a few images for the interior of the collection. We’re not sure at the moment if they will be in color or black and white, but either way they will be a fun addition to the stories they represent.

So, happy holidays everyone! I hope you are celebrating something this month, even if it’s leaving the last twelve behind you. Thank you for being here, for being part of the adventure.

Onward.
